Abstract: A case study on the formation of electro-optic perhydrotriphenylene (PHTP) inclusion lattices is presented. Exploration of the capacity to include nonlinear optical (NLO) molecules shows for the first time that most linearly shaped and known NLO building blocks exhibit parallel alignment when co-crystallized with the PHTP host compound. Materials exhibiting macroscopic polar properties were obtained with a success rate of nearly 90%. A critical discussion on the possible real structures of polar PHTP inclusion lattices is given.!13
