Abstract: We present efficient blue electroluminescence devicesbased on pure soluble poly(paraphenylene) polymers andpoly(phenylene) oligomers. Highly efficient green andred emission light is produced with a new colorconversion technique by pumping fluorescent dye layerswith blue organic light-emitting diodes. The highintrachain order of the laddertype poly(paraphenylene)allows us to observe stimulated emission in theblue-green spectral regions, which does not competewith dissipative processes, like in other conjugatedpolymers. We discuss the state of the art situation torealize an optically pumped homopolymer solid statelaser.!61
