Abstract: In situ STM studies of the Au(110) single crystal electrode have been carried out, in 0.1 M NaOH, under potential control. After sputter-annealing procedure, at sufficiently negative potential, in alkaline solution a (1 multiplied by 3) reconstructed Au(110) surface has been observed. Above the certain potential a (1 multiplied by 3) reconstruction vanishes and the surface forms a (1 multiplied by 1) structure. !10
