Abstract: The electronics signal processing system (preamplification through digitization) used to capture signals from advanced visible and infrared focal planes requires careful design and component selection to insure focal plane limited performance. We describe the design of a multi-channel signal processing system and its detailed electronic characterization in terms of gain, offset, noise (rms, spectral, and coherent), integral nonlinearity, differential nonlinearity, frequency response, step response, and electrical crosstalk. The test system, test methodology, and test issues are also discussed. !12
