摘要

Terrain height information was derived over a forest test area in eastern Ontario with the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing airborne CV-580 InSAR mapping radar. Height differences between open areas and nearby forest stands, and among adjacent forest stands were determined from the interferometric data sampled on a 5 m spacing. These were compared with field measurements of height differences. Height difference correspondence was erratic, but in some cases was good. Stand density had a strong influence, with open stands producing variable elevations but generally reflecting average elevations deep into the canopy. There was no discernible trend of offset due to species.
