Continuous measurements of total gaseous mercury (TGM)_ were carried out betwene Septemeber 1995 and July 1997 at mace head,Ireland,the msot westerly European atmospheric research station.Average TGM ocncentration meaasured at Mace head over the entire period of two years are 1.8 ng m~-3. Hihg concentrations of up to 8 ng m~-3 have bene recorded during pollution events.
