The 20 t "Zarya" (FGB) module - the first element of the International Space Station was launched on November 20, 1998 from baikonur cosmodrome (flight 1A/R). On november 24 following series of corrections and using its own propellant plant "Zarya" reached the working orbit with 385 km and 51.6 deg inclination. The module is designed for fuel storage. location of equipment and consumable, as well as for supplying the ISS with power at the initial stage of its assembly. "Zarya" will maintain the ISS orientation and correct its orbit.
