In this paper, we propose a new relaxed correctness criterion to guanantee consistency for global applications in multidateabase systems on the assumption that the database integration has no effect on the satisfaction of integrity cnstraints. With the relaxed criterion, in particular, we cna expect the enhanced degree of concurrency in the case of read-only transactions. In addition, we present a concurrency contrtol algorithm based on the relaxed criterion in distributed multidatabase systmes. In the proposed algorithm, the GTM makes a decision to execute a global transaction in 2 phases by exploiting the number of a global transaction's involvement in the influence order.
