A semi-empirical method is tested to determine the spatialdistribution function of the thermalized photoelectrons, created by VUVor γ-irradiation of some liquid alkanes. It seems that modifiedexponentials must be associated to the thermalization process on VUVirradiation. A Gaussian distribution function must be used forhigh-energy irradiation. The partial inadequacy of the method with highenergy irradiation, can be imputed to the existence of multiple ion pairrecombinations
