The Cone Penetration Test (CPT) can provide continuous subsurface data with little human error, and faster and more economical than the tranditional SPT test. It is one of the most suitable investigation techniques for the exploration of soft ground. This paper presents a site investigation study on a reclaimed land in Chia-Yi, Taiwan. The CPT data are used to compare with SPT data which were obtaiend from the boring test performed near the CPT hole less than 1.5 meter.
