The hydraulic test is the important quality detecting process for spiral welded steel pipe. In this paper, the two loops control, fuzzy control and neural fuzzy PID control, are employed for hydraulic test system in which the water pressure and oil pressure must be control to suit the process of test and the model of system is nonlinear and unknown. The neural fuzzy PID controller is the improved one that consists of fuzzy controller and PI neural networks. The learning method with dynamic step length according to response error is presented to optimize the weight values of PI networks. The running result shows that the proposed two loops controller is very effective for hydraulic test system of steel pipe
