摘要

The upsizing of container ships is one of the major trends in the development of global shipping industry. Over the past a couple of years, the interval of the upgrading container ships has been reduced obviously and the tendency of the container ship upsizing has become swift and violent. The upsizing of the vessels will pose new requirements against the ports on the water depth, terminal facilities and managerial technologies. In the meanwhile, the ports have to give strategic consideration and make relevant tactics of how to act in response to the forthcoming global transport network and the regional economic development. 1.
