摘要

The B610E high strength quenched & tempered steel with 610～730MPa tensile strength and more than 490MPa yield strength has been developed by Baosteel Group. Its Charpy impact toughness at minus 40°C is more than 240J and its thickness range is between 12 and 45 mm. The weldability of B610E is researched by maximum hardness in weld heat-affected zone, slope Y groove cracking test, and reheat cracking sensitivity test, etc., and the influence of welding heat input of different welding process such as SMAW, SAW, VEGW, on the mechanical property of their welded joints are also evaluated. The results show that the B610E has excellent weldability with low susceptibility to cold cracking and high resisting ability to reheat cracking. It can be welded by different welding processes and variable heat input. While the heat input in VEGW is more than 100Kj/cm, the HAZ toughness of the welded joint is as high as 195J. The results of weldability research and suitability of welding processes and heat input can prove that the B610E(08MnNiVR) can completely meet the demands of constructing the large oil storage tanks. Those results can also promote the popularization and application of B610E high strength Q&T steel in other different field.
