Transmission electron microscopy(TEM) was used to investigate the particle size, distribution, morphology and composition of microalloyed carbonitrides precipitated in test steels at 930°C and 700°C. The relation between pattern and configuration was revealed, and the results indicated that the pattern of precipitates were square, globular and elliptical shapes. The Ti rich phases precipitated at higher holding temperature, whereas the complicated configuration of (Ti,V)(C,N) was formed at lower holding temperature. The particle of carbonitrides precipitated in the form of dispersion along grain boundary and at dislocation.
