For twenty years (1965 to 1985) I was a leadingspokesperson for the environmental movement, and inparticular in raising questions about nuclear power andnuclear issues. Needless to say, I am no longer part ofthat movement: in 1985 the Cascade Chapter of SierraClub (which I had chaired at one time) demoted and triedto cashier me and banish me from the Club (for heresy?).My experience, and my small piece of that history, hasgiven me some insights into how the anti-nuclearmovement can be engaged, and I propose to share thispersonal perspective.
