摘要

Accidental release of flammable, explosive or toxic materials often forms heavy gas clouds. Suitable characteristic parameters of the flow field are employed to normalize the dispersion equations considering the gravity effect of both heavy gas and salt water. Four qualitative similarity criteria are derived from similarity analysis between heavy gas movement and that of salt water. The similarity criteria can be matched in the model experiment and the salt water dispersion can be used to simulate heavy gas dispersion.
