This article presents the design of a redundant, three-axis attitude control system (ACS) of the Shavit space launcher. The ACS consists of two independent systems, each one capable controlling the pitch/yaw axes, while only one controls the roll axis. Selection/intervention logic between the systems must be chosen. Two types of intervention logic are discussed: passive intervention and fault-detection. It is shown, that passive intervention in pitch/yaw coupled with active identification in roll is the better choice. The selected logic is demonstrated through simulations and in-flight performance.
