This paper examines the definition and the generic typology of cumulative effects. Cumulative environmental effects are characterized by the temporal and spatial accumulation of change in environmental systems in an additive or interactive manner. Thus, it can be seen that, the most important environmental problem caused by the development of a region is the cumulative effects. Based on this theory, this paper selects Jiaozhou Bay as a typical coastal region, studies the cumulative effects on the hydrodynamic force environment and tide prism which caused by human reclaiming, and forecasts the hydrodynamic force and tide flux change in the 2010 coastline planning. The results show the tide prism of Jiaozhou Bay is sensitive to coastline change and sea area. Human reclaiming directly results in the reduction of Jiaozhou Bay water area and thus leads to the gradual reduction of tide prism in Jiaozhou Bay each year. Moreover, on the basis of coastline change, the velocity and direction of respective point in three respective year changes with different extent, which indicates that the water flow form can evidently influence coastline. It will influence the pollutants' diffusion condition greatly. Therefore, in the process of economy and society development, a stricter control over reclaiming projects is significant to the protection of sea area.
