The superparamagnetic particles of Ba-hexaferrite were prepared by hydrothermal synthesis.The precursor and hydroxide [OH] concentration was optimized and the synthesis temperature and time were crastically decreased. The post nucleation particle growth was strongly decreased. The super paramagnetic particles have a disc-like shape with an average particle size of 8 nm and were 3 nm thick. The particles have a com temperature saturation magnetization of 9 emu/g.
