According to the mining plan in the 416 mining face in Chen Jiashan coal mine, an industrial experiment on the distribution of gas gushes in goal has been made in the paper. There are 5 sets of testing equipment which have been used in 5 drilling sites joint to gas drainage pipeline. By analyzing the gases collected in the pipeline, the CH4 consistence has been gained. The relationship of CH4 consistence in drilling site along with the distance away from work face is studied. By drawing the curve between CH4 consistence and the distance, the law of gas changing and other characteristics such as a height peak and a low peak appeared in the curve have been discovered. It has been found through farther analysis that the gas gushes is related to gob leakage, which conduced the CH4 consistance changing to big to height peak, the gas gushes is related to drainage-.hole leakage, which conduced the CI-~ consistence changing to small, and the gas gushes is related to goaf spontaneous combustion, which conduced the CH4 consistence changing to big from the low peak firstly. Finally, the important result about the boundary leakage in goal and the position for three zones of ceal spontaneous combustion have been brought out. And which is worthy utilizing on mine disaster prevention.
