Shendong mining company, the biggest modem mining industry in China, Iocated in the northwest where short of water and soil, suffers from the disaster of coal to spontaneous combustion. Due to the limitation of natural conditions, it is hard to prevent and fight spontaneous combustion with conventional grouting of slurry. This paper describes a new technology that uses a natural maeromoleeular compound, KDC, to prepare send-suspended grout to prevent and fight spontaneous combustion of coals. It presents the suspension mechanism of sand, fire-prevention properties, pulping process end successful application in Bulianta coal mine of the Shendong Mining Company. Results show that the sand-suspended grout is nontoxic, not harmful to the environment, of less friction when grouting through pipelines, which is an ideal and environmental product for prevent and fighting mine fire.
