摘要

To control traffic in airports, air traffic controllers monitor aircraft and vehicles by visual observation and give instructions to pilots with radio telephony systems. However, in airports with high density traffic or complex layout , or in airports under low-visibility conditions such as night or fog, air traffic controllers have difficulties to monitor and control and those environments increase controllers workload.To solve these problems, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) proposed Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control Systems (A-SMGCS) and published A-SMGCS manual that shows the outline of A-SMGCS in 2004. A-SMGCS improves controllers' situational awareness and reduce workload with advance electrical and information technologies. To improve safety and efficiency in airports, research and developmentIn ICAO definition, A-SMGCS is composed of four functions: Surveillance, Routing, Guidance and Control. Each function works on a subsystem and all-subsystems are connected each other through network.Electronic Navigation Research Institute (ENRI) started five-year R&D project in 2004 to prepare deployments of A-SMGCS in near future. In the project, ENRI developed prototype A-SMGC systems and conducted evaluation test of the systems.In this paper, we explain our prototype A-SMGC systems and show results of evaluation of the systems.
