摘要

Khulna, the third largest city of Bangladesh, is a densely populated industrial city. Due torapid urbanization this city faces the environmental pollution like other growing city of Bangladesh. Thecity corporation is the only authorized body responsible for the proper management of generated wastes.NGOs and CBOs also adopt door-to-door system, in close cooperation with the city authority and collectfees from the households for their services. Clinical wastes are partially collected and then managed aftertreatment in a burning unit installed by an NGO. Though the good intentions of the city officials and otherstakeholders, due to lack of technical knowledge, financial constraints and others limitations, the overallwaste management scenario is not good.
