Construction of low-income housing projects is a replicated process and can be performedusing several construction methods. This paper presents a framework that aids the government agenciesand contractors in the planning of low-cost habitation using computer simulation. The proposedframework estimates the time and cost required for construction of low-income housing. Six constructionmethods can be used in the proposed framework. These are: traditional (cast-in-place), flat slab, prestressed, bearing wall, three dimension structural system, and stay in place form work. The frameworkestimates time and cost of low income housing projects and takes into considerations the uncertaintiesinherited in tasks duration by allowing utilization of several probability density function. A computerprototype, name LIHouse_Sim, is developed in MS Visual Basic 6.0 as a proof of concept for theproposed framework. A case study is presented to demonstrate the use of the developed prototype andto illustrate its essential features.
