Analysis of Thick-wall Composite Cylindrical Pressure Vessels under the Effect of Cyclic Internal Pressure and Cyclic Temperature

Thick-wall pressure vessels have are widely used in industries. Evaluation of stresses and strains on a thick-wall cylinder is very important for a doctrinaire design. In this paper, complete analysis of stresses within the wall of a composite cylindrical pressure vessel subjected to cyclic internal pressure and temperature is studied. At first, equations of stress and strain are obtained with theoretical method and then, distribution of temperature within cylinder-wall is evaluated on the basis of the forward finite difference technique. This is done by changing of partial differential equation of heat conduction to finite difference equations in both districts of space and time. At the end, different components of mechanical and thermal stresses are obtained in different radiuses of the cylinder-wall. All calculations are done using the MATLAB package.
