摘要

Location-based and schedule-based applications are the two main categories that contextual based information can be provided in a ubiquitous system. However the design and development of an indoor location-based application has been dependent upon wireless infrastructure that is costly and complicated to implement. With the widespread use of mobile devices, such as Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), smart phones, mobile phone and laptop, designer and developer can take advantage of the availability of these technologies to experiment with indoor location-based application and services. This paper aims to demonstrate, by using Bluetooth technology, the design and development of an indoor location-base application without the traditional cost of the wireless infrastructure needed.
