摘要

One of the main threats for a shipbuilding company is losing the knowledge of its employees. This mainly occurs due to retirement. IHC Krimpen Shipyard and Delft University of Technology combined forces to create tools to store this shipbuilding knowledge. The status of the process of developing such a tool is described in this paper. Pre-contract scheduling is mainly done with the use of rules of thumb. A method has now been developed to create a hull erection schedule as well as a section building schedule in the pre-contract phase. This tool is very useful for quickly assessing different building strategies in a very early stage.
