Complexity of pre-outfitting and outfitting structures, delays in final design delivery and unpredictable events on shop-floor trigger scheduling conflicts that arise because of compartment space shortages, resource constraints and unfeasible assembly sequences. 4-Dimension Planning gives planners the possibility to virtually define suitable collision-free assembly sequences - before clashes actually happen in reality. It is an enabler for Digital Ship Construction and a key driver to increase shop floor efficiency. Indeed, 4-Dimension planning significantly decreases re-work on pre-erection and outfitting areas, and improves reliability of planning, resource allocation and sourcing.
