The effect of incorporating organically modified silicate layers with a blend between poly (butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) and poly (lactic acid) (PLA) as well as the effect of mixing order are investigated by comparing the morphological and rheological property differences among the blends in which clay was first mixed with PBAT, PLA, or the blend. The highest degree of exfoliation and solid-like behavior was observed in the blends containing 50% PBAT , 50% PLA, and 3% Cloisite 30B.
