For studying treatment measures of frost heaving in seasonal frozen area, it is paved with the conditional sand mat and the waterproof geotextile-gravel mat of subgrade as experimental sections at Xiangpi Mountain in National Highway 109. According to the field data of ground temperature and moisture content observed from experimental sections of subgrade, this paper analyses the variation of temperature and moisture content between the waterproof geotextile-gravel mat and the conventional sand mat of subgrade under climatic environment in detail; It not only compares the change rate of moisture content of the two sections, the reasons which cause those changes but also analyses the impacts of those changes on the stability of subgrade. Finally, the author comes to a conclusion that the waterproof geotextile-gravel of subgrade is more advantageous to preventing frost heaving and boiling in seasonal frozen area than the conventional sand mat of subgrade
