Influence of climate change on heating and cooling degree day for north of China

The degree day method is one of the well-known and the simplest methods used in the Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning industry to estimate heating and cooling energy requirements. In this study, the heating and cooling degree day are determined by using long-term recent measured data. According to the code of “thermal design of civil building”, Dalian, Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Jinan, Zhengzhou, Xi''an, Taiyuan, Lanzhou and Yinchuan are selected as representative cities of typical climate features in cold zone and used the meteorological observation data information of 40 years (1961–2000) for temperature and degree day statistical calculation. The change trend law of 40-year average temperature, heating degree day HDD18 and cooling degree day CDD26 of the selected cities were got. On the basis of which, analysis has been made on the correlation between the average temperature change and heating and air conditioning degree day in cold zone (7 weather stations).
