摘要

Urban agriculture is an integrative concept which encompasses economy, society, ecology, landscape, education, demonstration, et cetera. However, the research on the application of urban agriculture to ecological residential district planning is still rare now. This essay first describes the origin, development, characteristics and multi-function of urban agriculture, then presents the significance of urban agriculture used in the development of ecological residential district planning in different principles as promoting low-carbon, using energy saving technology, adhering to the humanistic, building harmonious community, et cetera. Furthermore, based on the aspects of the inherited historical culture, landscape view and residential life style, this essay analyses the approach which makes urban agriculture integrate into ecological residential district planning organically, in order to promote the progress of building the pleasant, ecological and sustainable residential district.
