In conventional method of 2D barcode recognition, image binarization and error-correcting decoding are independent processes. Taking account of the complexity of illumination and background regions of the image, single adaptive threshold kernel window method is difficult to handle all the different barcode images. We present a method of decodingoriented image binarization. Firstly, binaries the same image using kernel window with different sizes. The process ends with accurate decoding the image, or fails to decode out of the predefined number of binarization. Secondly, using the integral image improves the speed of binarization image each time. Our method focuses on the important characteristic of existing decoding determinant after the barcode image binarization, effectively using the decoding results yields higher recognition rate.
