The conceptions of the ecological flood, the resource flood and the disaster flood are brought forward by the human attitude, the management capacity, and river ecological system demand for flood based on the ecological demand water productions in river. The positive criterion and the calculation method of reservoir ecology flood compensation benefit are put forward based on the main ecology function of the flood shaping the river and affording environments for biology in the sediment river. Taking Longyangxia and Liujiaxia Reservoirs on Yellow River (2004) as demonstration, the result of the computing case shows that the Longyangxia and Liujiaxia Reservoirs ecological flood compensation benefits is -0.6881 billion Yuan.
