This study aims to reveal the characteristics of urban heat island in the tropics in order to find out its effective mitigation measures. The previous paper reported the results of a field measurement on temperature distribution in the city of Johor Bahru, Malaysia in 2008 [1]. The results showed that there was an urban heat island intensity (UHII) of 4°C at night. This paper analyzes climatic conditions that affect UHII, using the ten-month observation data in Johor Bahru.
