摘要

Although new model vehicles have advanced safety features, such as load limiting safety belts and advanced multi-stage airbags, it does not appear that injury risk predictions based on NASS/CDS that utilize AV are sensitive to the age of the vehicle. This observation is important because since year 2009, NASS/CDS has not collected injury information for occupants in vehicles that are greater than 10 years old at the time of the sample. This study shows that this decision may not greatly affect future injury risk predictions made using NASS/CDS data.
