Cellular response of the tecturized surface were similar to untreated controls. In vivo, the polymer-free DES showed equivalency to Xience V in vascular healing based on endothelial re-growth with greater endothelial maturation. These results show promise for the use of non-polymeric DES over a traditional polymeric DES.
