Cooling and moisture load characteristics of department store are analysed, psychrometric processes of all-air system, air-water system and temperature and humidity independent control system for a department store project are calculated and discussed, it shows, for the department store with low heat humidity ratio, the relative humidity is higher if conventional air conditioning system is used, temperature and humidity independent control system can supply enough conditioned fresh air to air conditioning area and control the temperature and humidity easily and correctly, new kinds of fresh air handling units should be researched and developed is also proposed in the paper.
