This work explores the electrochemical and corrosion behavior of several coatings applied on alloy C450 for corrosion, wear and antifouling applications. Most of the tests were performed in aerated 5% NaCI solution, pH 4 at 50°C. The monitoring of the corrosion potential and galvanic corrosion current of coated and non-coated specimens determined which coatings will provide corrosion protection to the substrate and polarization resistance measurements monitored the evolution of the coating corrosion behavior as a function of the immersion time. The electrochemical results correlated well with results from the exposure of coated coupons salt fog (ASTM B117).
