In this paper, we propose a system architecture for recording nerve signals with cuff electrodes and we develop the key component in this system, the small-input, low-noise, low-power, high-gain amplifier. The amplifier is implemented using a mixture of weak- and strong-inversion transistors and a special off-set compensation technique; it's performance is validated using Spice simulations.
