Overview of the new changes: (1) March 20, 2012 OSHA revised the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) 29 CFR 1910.1200. (2) Goal is to integrate components of the UN's project Global Harmonization System of Classification & Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) into OSHA's HazCom Rules. (3) New rule modifies requirements for: 1. Safety Data Sheets, SDS (formerly MSDS), 2. Labeling Elements, 3. Hazard Classifications, and 4. Requires training of all employees on these changes.
