Complex automatic test system design for MIC and RS422 communication gateway

Nowadays multiple bus communication types are comprehensively employed to construct different networks in vehicles information system design. Data interchange among these networks must be conducted through complex communication gateways, which are difficult to test all the features wholly by manual work. MIC and RS422 communication networks are very common in some special vehicles, so in this paper we design a complex automatic test system to implement comprehensive tests for two MIC networks and one RS422 network based on our actual project requirements. The long-time reliability tests (up to 1200 hours) proved that the test system can eventually cover all the functions of the communication gateways, and give exhaustive details about the information flow in our tested system.
