Value engineering has been used as an effective tool for Washington State school construction for many years. However, the recent use of General Contractor Construction Manager (GCCM) has changed the project delivery process. This paper identifies a way to integrate the value methodology to maximize the GCCM process for project success. This paper includes a case study as an example of the successful application of this approach. The case study includes two elementary schools for the Edmonds School District (ESD).
