摘要

Upmix technique for 22.2 multichannel sound was studied using room impulse responses (RIRs) processed by phase-randomization technique. From the results of the first experiment, the spatial impression of the proposed method was rated as close to the original sound, but the timbre was subjectively different. In the second experiment, RIRs were divided into two sets based on the beginning of the diffuse reverberation tail-one group with a fixed beginning of 80ms and the other set with different mixing times for each band. The results showed increased subjective similarity between the original and utilized upmix methods versus the first experiment. However, it is suggested that the similarity of the timbre depends on the sound source and the suitable mixing time of the RIRs.
