This paper introduces a calculation model for evolution of navigation channel cross-section with allowance for processes of thermal exchange at air-ice and ice-water interfaces, brash ice accumulation in ice channel after each run of vessel, brash ice consolidated layer formation, partial relocation of brash ice beneath the ice channel edges. Unlike previously developed models that were referred mostly to Baltic Sea, the presented model considers the matter in the context of severe Arctic ice conditions, for example, of the Ob Bay. The model makes it possible to calculate the required number of navigation channels to be made in an ice cover during the entire winter season.
