摘要

Closed loop PI controlled induction motor with power electronic soft-starter is modelled in MATLAB. The paper implements Ziegler Nichols tuning method, cuckoo search algorithm, and bat algorithm to find optimal parameters of PI controller for the soft-starter. The obtained parameters are substituted in the MATLAB model and satisfactory output with rated current at motor starting with minimal overshoot is obtained.
