This paper provides the initial report on the findings of two Low Cost Technology (LCT) workshops hosted in the UK and US in February and June 2018 respectively and seeks to outline the priorities of the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) and US Department of Defense (DoD) as well as highlight the issues facing the industrial and academic communities in developing Additively Manufactured (AM) technologies for propulsion systems. It succeeds in establishing the issues to be addressed under a scoped activity going forward under the Low Cost Technologies Action Team under the Military Engine Reliability and Safety Project Arrangement (MERS PA) between the US DoD and UK MOD.
