Radiation Center Position of Helix Antenna in the Pulsed Mode

摘要

Radiation center position of a cylindrical helix antenna in the mode of nanosecond pulse radiation was studied experimentally. Antenna under the test was rotated with further search for delays (advances) of radiated pulse arrival to the receiving one. Field components Ex, Ey, and module E radiated by helix were studied separately. Radiation centers for Ex and Ey components are placed at different distances from the ground plate of the helix antenna. Radiation center position of the cylindrical helix antenna (for module E) is shifted from the axis of the helix. Direction of the shift is determined by the helix end direction.
