Technological advancements are improving drastically and it inturn depends on the important factor that is radio spectrum. The main goal in the fast updating technological activities is that all the users should be allocated with the spectrum for their transmission. This has to be done smoothly by ensuring proper transmission without disturbing other users. This can happen only with the help of cognitive radio and its foremost function is spectrum sensing. All these problems can be minimized and rectified only by sensing the unused spectrum and utilizing the spectrum. This dynamic spectrum access in turn reduces the insufficiency of the spectrum. Among different types of spectrum sensing methods, this paper mainly focusses on the performance of energy detection based spectrum sensing method in the presence of colored noise.
