This paper presents a general and novel approach and the results of the investigations in the field of museum technology based on 3D modeling, 3D video and 3D visualization. The described approach was used for making of 3D animation about showpieces of Peter the Great Anthropology and Ethnography Museum. A state-of-the-art approach based on digital technologies provides new opportunities for studying objects of the past, history, national traditions.
